MUKTI Cox’s Bazar has been implementing Disaster, Environment and climate change program with the technical and financial assistance of Gonosastha KendraUSAID and Own Fund. We are working since 1996 at Cox’s Bazar. We have 148 trained disaster volunteers. They are capable awareness rising on disaster preparedness, relief distribution and rescue operation during disaster.

The programs are doing the following activities:
  • Preparation and distribution of oral saline.
  • Provide assistance for house making.
  • Providing Training to volunteers.
  • Community awareness on preparedness, protection and rehabilitation.
  • Aware community on climate induced hazards.
  • Tree plantation and social a forestation.
  • Distribute relief materials and food to victim of disasters.


Mukti Cox’s Bazar has worked at off-grid areas of Moheshkhali and Kutubdia Island including other two Upazillas of Cox’s Bazar and Bashkali of Chittagong District by providing solar energy from February 2006 to June 2013 with the assistance of Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL).


The goal of the program is to assist the communities to develop the capacity for managing and operating the solar home system and create awareness among the communities about the diverse use of renewable energy at

Reduction in indoors air pollution, as kerosene lamps are not using for illumination purposes.

There are additional income generation activities in the evening hours for the benefit of the communities.

There is a positive effect for better family planning and consequently reduction in population, as the communities will be better occupied the working hours.

Children as well as adults have better access to education.

There is a social harmony because of a better form of living.
