ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ON COUNTER TRAFFICKING (APCT).

MUKTI Cox’s Bazar has implemented Assistance Program on Counter Trafficking (APCT) project from July 2011 to June 2012 with the financial and technical assistance of International Organization for Migration (IOM) in six upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district.

RENEWABLE SOLAR ENERGY PROGRAM

MUKTI Cox’s Bazar has been implementing Disaster, Environment and climate change program with the technical and financial assistance of Gonosastha KendraUSAID and Own Fund. We are working since 1996 at Cox’s Bazar. We have 148 trained disaster volunteers. They are capable awareness rising on disaster preparedness, relief distribution and rescue operation during disaster.

The programs are doing the following activities:
  • Preparation and distribution of oral saline.
  • Provide assistance for house making.
  • Providing Training to volunteers.
  • Community awareness on preparedness, protection and rehabilitation.
  • Aware community on climate induced hazards.
  • Tree plantation and social a forestation.
  • Distribute relief materials and food to victim of disasters.

NON FORMAL PRIMARY EDUCATION PROGRAM

Non-Formal Primary Education (NFPE) has been a cornerstone of MUKTI’s programs. NFPE provides relevant education to underprivileged children of rural areas around Cox’s Bazar. The program is being implemented with the technical and financial assistance of Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) at Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Moheshkhali and Ramu Upazilla of Cox’s Bazar district since 2002.

The goal of the program is to increase access in non-formal education for the underprivileged Children to create linkage with formal education and endorsing adult education to the poor to empower them by providing well-integrated training for improving their livelihoods.

MALARIA CONTROL PROGRAM

With the Technical assistance of BRAC and funded by Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) MUKTI has been implementing the Malaria Control Program for reducing and prevent the malarial diseases in Cox’s Bazar district since June 2007.

Working Area:

10 Union’s of Cox’s Bazar Sadar, 11 Union’s of Ramu Upazilla and Cox’s Bazar Pourasova under Cox’s Bazar District.

Objectives:

  • To increase access to quality diagnosis and effective treatment to 90% of the target population in high risk areas by 2015.

ROHYINGA REFUGEE PROGRAM

Background:

Extreme violence in Myanmar has forced Rohingya families to flee the state. Homes and fields have been set on fire, family members have been killed and the intensity continues. More than 1000,000 Rohingya people have fled their homes and have poured into Bangladesh over the last 4 months to escape persecution. The influx of refugees is expected to continue and the small region of Bangladesh does not have the capacity to support them. Families are in urgent need of life-saving food assistance, water, sanitation, shelter, health and education support.
